Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. has decided all Maxi-Cosi Coral XP rear facing infant car seat model IC313's sold in the U.S.A. fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
When the child seat is installed into the vehicle with the base secured using the lower anchors, the child seat may detach which will not adequately protect the child from injury in the event of a crash. Also, if only the inner carrier is installed into the vehicle the Coral XP will not adequately protect the child from injury in the event of a crash. The inner carrier of the Coral XP may continue to be used when attached to the outer carrier and the outer carrier is installed with or without the base using the vehicle belt restraint system, consistent with the existing instruction booklet and labels. DJ USA will provide Coral XP owners a refund or replacement car seat free of charge.
